We all need light in our darkness.
Human beings have an interesting relationship with light. There are times when I struggle to have enough light for reading, for wood working, for fixing the car, for walking to the bathroom in the middle of the night without stubbing my toe or running into something. Then there are times when I am overwhelmed with light to the point of blindness - driving at sunrise or sunset, when the lights come up after the movie, skiing on a sunny day, or driving toward someone with new supernovae headlights. God’s first act of creation was to create light and in so many ways He has been creating light in our lives ever since. Sending Jesus into the world was by far the greatest gift of enlightenment that God ever gave mankind. Finally, a light that we can truly see by.
