    Everyone seems to be after something: property…power…prestige…position…pleasure…possessions…the list goes on and on. We spend our lives in the pursuit of anything and everything that even hints at the promise of fulfillment, satisfaction, meaning, and significance. What is extraordinary about this phenomenon is that for equally as long, all who have devoted their lives to these pursuits and achieved great wealth, power, prestige, pleasure, and possessions have in near perfect unison concluded: “it does not satisfy, it is never enough.” But then we reason to ourselves, “Maybe they just didn’t get enough. I’ll try one more time just to be sure!”
    In the midst of the madness of this trivial pursuit, the voice of God calls out for us to give our attention to what very few have pursued with the passion and fervor of worldly desires but what all who have uniquely concluded that nothing else satisfies like this. If you will listen to His voice you will hear the kind admonition repeated tirelessly to any who will hear: “Get wisdom!”
