What's The Big Deal About Easter?

For two thousand years Christian’s have been celebrating a singular historical event in which Jesus of Nazareth was crucified under the Roman authority, sealed in a tomb guarded by Roman soldiers, then resurrected on the third day and personally witnessed by hundreds of first century Judeans. Despite severe persecution by the Jewish and Roman authorities, first century eye witness believers held fast to their testimony that Jesus indeed rose from the dead - even under the penalty of death.

​So what was the scandalous message that Jesus and His followers were spreading throughout the land that was so threatening to the ruling powers of the day? Simply this: that Jesus, proven to be the Son of God through the resurrection, has made a way for all mankind to be forgiven, redeemed, and reconciled to God through faith in His Name. Why? Because of LOVE!
